Cookie Policy

Effective Date: April 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how DAP Brands ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Maverick Events platform ("Service"). This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and give website operators information about how their site is being used.

Cookies may be "session cookies" (which are deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them). Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services that the website uses ("third-party cookies").

2. Cookies We Use

Essential / Authentication Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. They are set by our authentication provider, Clerk, and are used to:

  • Maintain your login session across pages
  • Verify your identity and authentication state
  • Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF)
  • Remember your authenticated session between visits

Preference Cookies

These cookies remember choices you have made to provide a more personalized experience:

  • Theme preference (light/dark mode)
  • Language and locale settings
  • Notification preferences
  • Last visited event or page

Analytics Cookies

We use minimal analytics to understand how the Service is used and to improve the user experience. Our analytics are limited to aggregated, anonymized event attendance and feature usage data. We do not use third-party advertising analytics platforms.

3. Third-Party Cookies

The following third-party services may set cookies or use similar technologies when you use the Service:

Clerk (Authentication)

Clerk is our authentication provider and sets essential cookies required for sign-in, session management, and security. These cookies are necessary for the Service to function. For more information, see Clerk's Privacy Policy.

OneSignal (Push Notifications)

OneSignal powers our push notification system. On web browsers, OneSignal may use a service worker and local storage to manage notification subscriptions and delivery. For more information, see OneSignal's Privacy Policy.

4. Local Storage and Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, the Service uses browser local storage and session storage for:

  • Caching event data for faster load times
  • Storing your user preferences locally
  • Managing notification subscription state
  • Temporarily storing form data to prevent loss during navigation

On the mobile app, we use secure device storage (AsyncStorage and SecureStore) for authentication tokens and cached event data.

5. How to Manage Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:

  • View what cookies are set on your device
  • Delete individual cookies or all cookies
  • Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is set

Please note that blocking or deleting essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of the Service, including signing in to your account.

Here is how to manage cookies in common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies

6. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want to be tracked. Since there is no accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, the Service does not currently respond to DNT signals. However, we do not engage in cross-site tracking or behavioral advertising.

7. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about our use of cookies.
