Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 2026

DAP Brands ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Maverick Events platform ("Service"), which includes the web application at taxmaverickevents.com, the Maverick Events mobile application for iOS and Android, the admin dashboard, and the sponsor portal. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our Service.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the practices described herein. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider, Clerk. You may sign in using Google or Apple OAuth, and we receive basic profile information from those services, including your name, email address, and profile photograph (if available).

Event Registration Data

When you register for an event, we collect your ticket type selection, dietary needs, accessibility requirements, and any other information you provide during the registration process. This information is used to prepare for and enhance your event experience.

Badge and Check-in Data

We generate a unique QR-based badge code for each event registration. We record check-in timestamps when your badge is scanned at event entry points and track badge scans for security, attendance verification, and networking purposes.

Networking Data

When you connect with other attendees by scanning badges, we record the connection between profiles, including timestamps and any associated vCard exchanges. This data is used to facilitate professional networking during and after events.

Session Activity

We collect data about your interactions with event sessions, including bookmarked sessions, Q&A questions you submit, poll votes you cast, and session attendance records. This helps personalize your event experience and provides analytics for event organizers.

Profile Information

You may optionally provide additional profile information including your company name, job title, bio, LinkedIn URL, Twitter/X handle, personal website, and profile photograph. You control whether your profile is publicly visible to other attendees through a public/private toggle in your settings.

Device and Usage Data

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service, including device type, operating system and version, app version, browser type, screen resolution, and general usage patterns (pages visited, features used, session duration). This data is used to improve the Service and diagnose technical issues.

Location Data

We do not collect precise location data by default. Location data is only collected if you explicitly enable location-based features (such as venue wayfinding) through your device settings. You may disable location access at any time through your device settings.

2. Mobile Application Data Collection

The Maverick Events mobile application for iOS and Android collects and uses data in the following specific ways:

Camera

The app requests camera access solely for scanning QR codes — including attendee badge scanning for networking, event check-in scanning, and sponsor booth code scanning. The app does not capture, store, or transmit photographs or video. No image data from your camera is ever saved or uploaded.

Calendar

With your explicit permission, the app may add event sessions as reminders to your device calendar. This feature is entirely optional. Calendar data on your device is not read or transmitted by the app; we only write session reminders when you choose to add them.

Push Notifications

Event updates, schedule changes, session reminders, networking alerts, and organizer announcements are delivered via push notifications through OneSignal. To provide this service, we store your device push notification token. You can opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings or the app's notification preferences screen.

Offline Data

The app caches event schedules, speaker information, venue details, and other event data locally on your device for offline access. This cached data is stored only on your device, is not shared with third parties, and is cleared when you sign out or uninstall the app.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Event Management: Managing event registration, check-in, badge generation, and session tracking
  • Personalization: Providing personalized event schedules, session recommendations, and content based on your preferences and activity
  • Networking: Facilitating attendee connections, badge scanning, and professional networking

4. Information Sharing

Sponsors (Lead Capture)

When you attend a sponsored session, visit a sponsor booth, or allow your badge to be scanned by a sponsor representative at an event, your basic registration information (name, email, company, job title) may be shared with that sponsor for follow-up purposes. Sponsors are responsible for their own handling of your data after it has been captured. You may contact sponsors directly to request removal from their records.
